A lively, unique arrangement of the traditional English Christmas carol
A delicately beautiful arrangement of the Christmas classic with an ethereal sound.
A Royal Affinity is a stately piece for string Orchestra or String Quartet. It also has some secrets. The main theme and variations begins in 3/4 time, but then they are once again presented, but in 6/8 time. The melody is exactly the same, but the accents are now on different beats.
With a strong nod at Mozart, "Celebration" evokes an image of a royal procession or formal wedding. In good classical fashion, it presents the melody and then develops it ever so gently, adding enough interest to be exciting for the listener without requiring extensive skill from the players.
A Delightful Dance to Celebrate a New Day For String Orchestra or Quintet
Jewels and Treasures started as a folk song about friendship and has matured into this splendid tribute to enduring friendship. There are high spots and low spots, just like any friendship, but it rallies jubilantly in the end. The tension is created using juxtaposed rhythms (3 against 2), alternate rhythms for the melody and a venture into a minor key variation of the tune.
A delightful arrangement of the music to John Bunyan's hymn "He Who Would Valiant Be" from "Pilgrim's Progress" (Music by Charles Winfred Douglas). More than a straight transcription, it has alternate voicing and key "wanderings".
Using contrasting dissonant and concordant chords, “Golden Morning” evokes images of the slow emergence of the sun from its night-time slumber and all of the bustle of nature in response.
The Awkward Marionette is a fun piece in 7/4 time and well within the ability of an intermediate string orchestra
